Most of Fonder’s work abandons structure altogether. This piece, however, embraces it. Using both unconventional shapes and unconventional materials, she creates a figure down the center of the canvas. While it is still abstract, this piece seems to have a defined figure in its center. It is left up to the viewer to interpret the figure and its meaning, especially when paired with the name. Using white, on a background of beige, the figure stands out, but it does not scream for attention. The beauty of this simple piece is clear.
