The use of indigo in Fonder’s work is derived from the history associated with indigo as a pigment. The process oof making indigo is a spiritual and cultural custom with many steps. The use of this color throught out history is marked with intention and tradition. The etnografica series works reflect the discoveries of shallow marks on cave walls, shadows cast from wooden huts, straight roads to form connections; these are the lines and shapes that make us human.
